About six-in-ten Americans (62%) say abortion should be legal in all (29%) or most cases (33%); 36% say it should be illegal in all (8%) or most cases (28%). Generally, Americans’ views of whether abortion should be legal remained relatively unchanged in the past few years, though support fluctuated somewhat in previous decades.
